What These Infections Actually Are

Both are viral skin infections — molluscum presenting as small, smooth, pearly bumps, and warts as rougher-textured growths — spreading through direct skin contact or shared items. They’re common enough that they often appear in small clusters among children in close contact, like classmates or siblings.

Many of these infections resolve on their own over months to about a year without any treatment at all.
